「月照寺」 島根県

松江藩主松平家の菩提寺で広大な境内には初代から九代までの唐門や回廊で仕切られた立派な廟所が立ち並ぶ。もちろん七第藩主・松平不昧公の廟所もここにある。昭和２９年に再建された本堂と棟続きの書院「高真院」・庫裏は昭和５９年の再建。書院側に池泉鑑賞式庭園があり池泉手前の白砂には飛び石や短冊形石が配置され出雲流となっている。本堂の真裏の棟続きの茶室「大圓庵」は松平不昧公による命名で貴人口の外に見える石灯籠と手水鉢は千利休から豊臣秀吉の家臣福島正則が譲り受けたものと伝わる。

"Gesshoji Temple" Shimane Prefecture

Gessho-ji Temple is the family temple of the Matsudaira family, the lords of the Matsue domain during the Edo period, and the vast grounds are lined with graves from the first generation to the ninth generation. Of course, the grave of the seventh lord, Matsudaira Fumai, is also located here.

Shoin was rebuilt in 1981. There is a pond garden along the long windows of the Shoin. Stepping stones and Tanzaku-shaped stones are placed on the white sand in front of the pond, creating an Izumo style. The tea room "Daien-an" was named by Fumai Matsudaira. It is said that the stone lantern and wash basin that can be seen outside the tea room were given to Toyotomi Hideyoshi's vassal Masanori Fukushima from Sen no Rikyu.
