旅館背後の山の斜面を利用した池泉回遊式庭園。一見小規模な印象ですが瓢箪池の中央にかかる橋を渡り斜面の園路をのぼると大きな庭園であることがわかり面積は1350坪にも及びます。作庭は大正時代で１００年の歴史を誇ります。タマモノ仕立てのツツジとサツキは春から初夏にかけて順に花を咲かせ庭を埋め尽くします。春の桜と秋のモミジもバランスよく植栽され宿泊客の目を楽しませます。夜間はLED照明によるライトアップで昼間とは一味違った庭園景観となります。また主庭以外にも館内にモダンな庭がありフロント脇の坪庭は秀逸です。またロビーに面する池には本来なら那智黒石が敷き詰められ水面に映る月を愛でる設えでした、しかし残念なことに熊本地震による被害で現在では水が抜かれた空のプールのような状態となっています。

フロントで販売されている尚玄山荘オリジナルのトマトアイスクリームはお勧めです。

A pond spring strolling garden on the mountain slope behind the inn. Although it is a small first impression, if you cross the bridge over the center of the gourd pond and climb the garden path on the slope, you will find that it is a large garden with an area of ​​1350 tsubo. The garden has a history of 100 years in the Taisho era. The azaleas and azaleas pruned in a spherical shape bloom in order from spring to early summer and fill the garden. Cherry blossoms in spring and maples in autumn are also planted in a well-balanced manner to entertain the eyes of guests. At night, projection mapping creates a garden landscape that is a bit different from daytime. In addition to the main garden, there are modern gardens in the building, and the tsubo-niwa beside the front desk is excellent. In addition, the pond facing the lobby was originally covered with black pebbles (Nachi Kuroishi), and the intention was to admire the moon reflected on the surface of the water. However, unfortunately, due to the damage caused by the Kumamoto earthquake, the pond is now drained and it looks like an empty pool.
