広島市植物公園は、広島市中心部と宮島の中ほど、佐伯区倉重の瀬戸内海を望む高台に位置し、18.3ヘクタールの園内には、大温室をはじめサボテン温室、展示温室、熱帯スイレン温室、ベゴニア温室、フクシア温室、栽培温室、展示資料館、芝生広場、カスケード、花の進化園、樹木観察園などを設け、約10,000品種203,000本の植物を栽培している。内外の植物を収集して教育的配慮の下に植栽し、憩いの場として自然観察の機会を提供するとともに、植物に関する知識の普及と自然保護の推進をはかる社会教育の場として1976年(昭和51年)11月3日に開園した。園内には日本庭園もそなえており鑓水と池泉庭園が設えられ冬季には松に雪吊りもなされる。日本庭園には昭和５８年に完成した茶室「和心庵」がある。和心庵の周囲には京都の北山杉、梅、紅葉、花菖蒲などが植えられ季節ごとに彩りを添える。

"Hiroshima City Botanical Garden" Hiroshima Prefecture

Hiroshima City Botanical Garden is located on a hill overlooking the Seto Inland Sea in Kurashige, Saeki Ward, halfway between the center of Hiroshima City and Miyajima. The 18.3-hectare garden includes a large greenhouse, a cactus greenhouse, an exhibition greenhouse, a tropical water lily greenhouse, a begonia greenhouse, a fuchsia greenhouse, a cultivation greenhouse, an exhibition museum, a lawn plaza, a cascade, a flower evolution garden, and a tree observation garden, and cultivates approximately 10,000 varieties and 203,000 plants. The garden opened on November 3, 1976 (Showa 51) as a place of social education to collect domestic and foreign plants, plant them with educational consideration, provide opportunities for nature observation as a place of relaxation, and promote the dissemination of plant knowledge and the promotion of nature conservation. The garden also features a Japanese garden with a yarimizu and a pond garden, and in winter, snow hangings are hung on pine trees. The Japanese garden features the teahouse "Washin'an," which was completed in 1983. Surrounding Washin'an are Kyoto's Kitayama cedars, plum trees, maples, and irises, adding color to each season.
