「知覧武家屋敷庭園 5. 佐多民子氏庭園」鹿児島県南九州市

知覧武家屋敷にはそれぞれ日本庭園があり、全７庭がまとめて有料で公開されています。今回はその五番目「佐多民子氏庭園」です。書院を背に庭の左に枯滝石組があります。その手前の砂庭の上に飛び石が置かれています。砂庭に配された石の中に台形の切石があります。それは盆栽を飾るための台で古い琉球庭園の様式を取り入れたものです。同じく知覧武家屋敷庭園の平山亮一氏庭園にはまとめて１０個置かれています。この佐多民子氏庭園では毎春この台に梅の盆栽を飾り和歌を詠んだそうです。人工的な切石ですが他の石と見事に調和しており感心しました。この庭には舟石も置かれており神仙思想などの表現が見受けられます。奇岩の大きな手水鉢には驚かされました。

There are Japanese gardens in each of the Chiran Samurai Residences, and all 7 gardens are open to the public.

This time is 5 th. The garden of Tamiko Sata was made in 1751-1764. There is a composition of a dry waterfall stone on the left facing the garden from the mansion. Because there are stepping stones on the sand in front of the waterfall, the sand represents water. A big boat stone is very impressive. And artificial stones are placed in natural stones. It is a stone table for decorating a bonsai. It is the style of the old Okinawa garden that was also in the garden of Ryoichi Hirayama. In this garden, plum bonsai was placed on the stone table in the spring, the samurai wrote poems. A great unique form of washbasin is an element of surprise in this garden. Many Westerners seek relaxation and peace in the Japanese garden, but their view is biased.
