熊本県人吉市には市内の日本庭園を巡る観光推奨コース「お庭御覧 」があります。

第一回に紹介するのは築１００年近い民家をカフェとヴィンテージ着物や雑貨ギャラリーとしてオープンしている「町家ギャラリー立山」です。ここの母体は人吉市内の製茶店で番茶のジェラートなどはもう本当に絶品ですのでお試しください。あ、庭の話をしないと（汗）ここの坪庭は小さな蹲を中心にしています。石の高さを低く抑えているのでとても優しい印象で癒されます。美しい苔の緑と延段に小さな草もののシダが可憐なレースの飾りのようでエレガントです。この庭は同じ熊本県内の益城の３０代のまだ若い庭師さんが世話しているそうです。こうして才能ある若い世代の庭師さんたちが育っているのは本当に心強いですよね。この庭は人吉を代表する観光スポット「青井阿蘇神社」のすぐそば。人吉市を訪れたら絶対に寄るべきだと超絶お薦めします！

Oniwa Goran Vol. 1 ”Machiya Gallery Tateyama"/ Hitoyoshi-city Kumamoto-pref

Hitoyoshi city, Kumamoto prefecture. This town has a sightseeing course named "Oniwa Goran". The meaning is "Oniwa = garden" "Goran = see," together, "see the garden". It is a course to appreciate 10 garden in Hitoyoshi city. There is only a Japanese brochure, but it is posted. If you can read Japanese, read this. Even if you can not read it, you can see the photos on it. Well, from now on I will post pictures of the 10 gardens of Hitoyoshi-city we can see on this "Oniwa Goran".

The first, "Machiya Gallery Tateyama" is a Japanese house nearly 100 years old. Currently this house is open as a cafe. And also selling old kimono etc.

This house has a beautiful Tsubo-niwa. Tsubo-niwa is a garden made in a small space between houses. Tsubo - niwa in this house is a beautiful combination of green moss and garden stones. It is a small, modestly gentle garden. I am very healed. This house is in the center of the city so if you travel to Hitoyoshi you should absolutely visit. I highly recommend it.
