「的山荘」 大分県

的山荘は、馬上金山で巨額の富を築いた成清博愛(なりきよひろえ）氏が、大正3年に別府湾を一望する約3,670坪の広大な敷地に建てた別荘。白大理石を用いたモダンで豪華な式台玄関や、銘木をふんだんに用いた床、書院などの座敷飾り、欄間彫刻など江戸時代以降の伝統手法を残した近代和風建築となっており見どころが多い。

庭園は２つのエリアに別れ、どちらも別府湾や高崎山を借景としいることは共通しているが、まずひとつ目は屋敷側に面しさながら海に落ち込んでいくような急勾配の斜面にツツジなどを密度をもって植栽したサンクンガーデンのような他に類を見ない珍しい庭で、もうひとつは、屋敷からやや離れた楠の巨木がそびえる平地に池泉なども作られた芝生広場の庭となっており、それぞれ趣が１８０度異なる。

屋敷は昭和３９年に、成清博愛の孫にあたる成清信輔氏が料亭として開業し、城下かれいの料亭として全国的にその名が知られるようになり、皇族をはじめ多くの著名人が訪れるようになった。

“Tekizanso” Oita pref

Tekizanso is a villa built in 1914 by Narikiyo Hiroe, who made a huge fortune from the Bajo Gold Mine, on a vast site of about 12,000m2 overlooking Beppu Bay. It is a modern Japanese-style building that retains traditional techniques from the Edo period, such as a modern and luxurious dais entrance made of white marble, floors made of precious wood, tatami room decorations such as shoin, and transom carvings, and has many highlights.

The garden is divided into two areas, and both have in common the borrowed scenery of Beppu Bay and Takasakiyama, but the first is a unique and rare garden like a sunken garden with azaleas and other plants densely planted on a steep slope that seems to drop into the sea while facing the mansion, and the other is a lawn square garden with a pond and other features on flat ground with a giant camphor tree towering slightly away from the mansion, and each has a completely different atmosphere.

The mansion was opened as a restaurant by Naruse Hiroaki's grandson, Naruse Nobusuke, in 1964. It became known nationwide as a castle town flounder restaurant, and many famous people, including members of the imperial family, came to visit.
