「ギャラリーカフェ 藍場川の家」山口県萩市

萩・川島地区には、萩にデルタ地帯を形成する橋本川などから水を引き入れた幅３ｍほどの運河「藍場川」の水を引き入れた流水式の池がある庭をもつ武家屋敷が多く見られるがこの旧室田家の庭もその一つ。庭の隅にひときわ高くそびえるモミの木は樹齢２５０年。２００９年より庭園に隣接してギャラリーカフェ「藍場川の家」が営まれている。

※2024年に惜しくも開催終了した「萩オープンガーデン」で毎年公開されていたが現在は不定期で公開。通常カフェを利用しても庭園の見学はできません。公開情報はインスタグラムなどを通じて。

In the Kawashima district of Hagi, there is the Aiba-gawa River, a 3m wide canal that draws water from the Hashimoto River and other rivers that form the delta area of ​​Hagi. In this district, there are many samurai residences with gardens that have flowing ponds that draw water from the Aiba-gawa River, and the garden of the former Murota family is one of them. The fir tree that stands out in the corner of the garden is 250 years old. Since 2009, the gallery cafe "Aiba-gawa no Ie" has been operating next to the garden.

*It was open to the public every year at the "Hagi Open Garden", but is now open to the public on an irregular basis.
